Pairing doesn’t work

The QR code won’t scan, it expired, the codes don’t match, or pairing fails after scanning. Here is what to do in each case.

Pairing needs the two devices to reach each other directly and a fresh QR code. These fixes cover the common problems.

Steps

  1. The code expired

Each code lasts 120 seconds and works once. Click New code on the PC and scan again.

  2. The camera doesn’t start

Allow the camera under Settings › Apps › Personal Bridge › Permissions › Camera. Or use Copy link on the PC and Paste link instead on the phone.

  3. The 6-digit codes differ

Tap Deny on both devices. Check that you scanned your own PC and try again on your home network or the phone’s hotspot.

  4. Scanning works but pairing fails

The devices can’t reach each other. Put them on the same network and check Allow the app through the firewall and Fix Wi-Fi client isolation (guest and public Wi-Fi). Pairing can’t use internet mode.

  5. The device was paired before

If you reinstalled the app or removed the device, remove the old entry on the other device too, then pair again.
