Delete your Personal Device Bridge data

1. Delete the data on your devices

The app stores its data only on your devices: your device key and device ID, the device name, the list of paired (trusted) devices and their permissions, transfer journals and the transfer history, My Drop items and settings. We never receive a copy, so deleting it on your device deletes it completely. To delete it:

• Android, all app data: open Settings › Apps › Personal Bridge › Storage (or Storage & cache) › Clear storage (or Clear data). Uninstalling the app also deletes all of its data. App data is excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device transfers, so no copy is left there. Menu names can differ slightly between phone makers.
• Android, one paired device: open the device in the app and tap Remove device. It can no longer connect until you pair it again.
• PC, paired devices and history: open a device in the app and choose Remove device. Clear the transfer history in the history view, or turn it off, which deletes it immediately. API keys of the AI assistant can be deleted in its settings.
• PC, everything: uninstalling (Windows: Settings › Apps › Installed apps › Personal Device Bridge › Uninstall) removes the program but deliberately keeps your data folder. To delete all data, quit the app from the system tray and delete the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\PersonalDeviceBridge (Linux: ~/.local/share/PersonalDeviceBridge).
• Received files: photos, videos and files you received are saved as ordinary files (Android: the shared Pictures and Download folders; Windows: Downloads\Personal Bridge) and are not deleted with the app. Delete them in your gallery or file manager.

After you reset a device, also remove it on your other devices (Remove device) so that they forget it too.

2. Ask us to delete data

We have no user accounts and never receive your content, so the only personal data we may hold about you is email you sent us. To have it deleted, or to exercise any other privacy right:

• Send an email to projectteamforyou@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
• Tell us what you want deleted, for example all emails you sent from a given address. Please write from that address; otherwise we may ask you to confirm that it is yours.
• We act on your request without undue delay and at the latest within 10 days, and tell you the result by email.

We cannot reach data that exists only on your devices or at Google, so we cannot delete it for you; please follow sections 1 and 3 for that data.

3. Data sent to Google by ML Kit (Android)

On Android, QR code scanning (for pairing), the document scanner and text recognition use Google ML Kit. Images and recognised text stay on your device. When you use these features, ML Kit sends Google LLC device information (manufacturer, model, operating system version), app information (package name and version), performance and error diagnostics and an installation identifier. Google receives this data directly, as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. It never reaches us: we hold none of it and cannot delete it for you.

The installation identifier belongs to this installation of the app. Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app (section 1) resets it: ML Kit creates a new identifier the next time you use one of these features. If you do not want any of this data sent, do not use QR code scanning, the document scanner or text recognition.

4. What is deleted, what is kept and for how long

Our servers keep no user data: there are no accounts, and your files, clipboard text, links and other content are never stored on our servers. In detail:

• Data on your devices (section 1): deleted as soon as you clear the app’s storage, uninstall the app or delete its data folder. We keep no copy.
• Internet connections: the end-to-end encrypted connection offers that your devices exchange through our rendezvous service are deleted as soon as they are delivered, and at the latest after 120 seconds. IP addresses are used only in memory to prevent abuse and are never stored.
• Share links: the file goes directly from your device to the recipient and is never stored on our servers. The encrypted connection signalling is deleted as soon as it is delivered, and at the latest after 120 seconds. A link works for one download only.
• Relayed connections: if a connection has to be relayed through Cloudflare’s TURN service, the still-encrypted traffic is forwarded in real time and not stored by us; Cloudflare processes connection metadata under its own retention rules.
• Update checks and website visits: not stored by us; Cloudflare processes the request data for delivery and security under its own retention rules. Your language choice and the offline cache stay in your browser; delete them by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
• Download and visit counts: anonymous daily totals without any IP address, cookie or other identifier. They cannot be linked to you, so there is nothing to delete about you; the totals are kept while the service is operated.
• Emails: kept for up to one year after your enquiry has been resolved, unless the law requires a longer period or we need them to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If you ask us to delete them, we do so within 10 days; we keep only your deletion request and our reply, as a record that it was handled, for up to one year.
• Google ML Kit diagnostics: held by Google, not by us, under Google’s own retention rules (section 3).

When data is deleted, it is erased so that it cannot be restored.
