Stop Android from pausing the app
Transfers stop when the screen is off, or backup never runs? Exclude Personal Bridge from battery optimisation on your phone.
The app keeps a background connection with a permanent notification, which Android allows. Some phones still pause or close apps to save battery. Allowing unrestricted battery use keeps it reachable.
Steps
Allow unrestricted battery use
Open Settings › Apps › Personal Bridge › Battery and choose Unrestricted (on some phones: Don’t optimise).
Samsung Galaxy
Open Settings › Battery › Background usage limits. Make sure Personal Bridge isn’t in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps, and add it to Never sleeping apps.
Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO
In the app’s App info, set Battery saver to No restrictions and turn on Autostart.
Other brands
Huawei: Battery › App launch › set Personal Bridge to manage manually and allow running in the background. OnePlus, OPPO, realme: allow background activity in the app’s battery settings.
Keep the notification
On Android 13 and later allow notifications for the app. Don’t swipe the app away, and open it once after the phone restarts.
Why it matters
Receiving files, notification mirroring, automatic backup, find my device and walk-away lock all need the app to stay reachable. The app doesn’t start by itself after a restart yet, so open it once.
