Transfers are slow or keep stopping
Speed up transfers and stop them from pausing: network, sleep and battery settings, disk space, and what the error messages mean.
Transfers continue by themselves after an interruption, so a file is never lost halfway. If they are slow or keep pausing, check these points.
Steps
Use a faster network path
Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a cable for the PC, and keep the phone close to the router. Internet mode and especially the relay are slower than the local network.
Keep both devices awake
Exclude the phone app from battery optimisation (Stop Android from pausing the app) and don’t let the PC sleep during a large transfer.
Check the free space
The receiving device needs room for the whole file. Free up space and the transfer continues.
Look at the reason for “Failed”
A transfer fails if the receiver blocks Receive files for the sender, if an organisation policy blocks the file type or size, or if the disk is full.
