Find your phone or PC

Make your phone ring at full volume, even on silent, and see where it is. Or make your PC show that you are looking for it.

Find my device rings a paired phone for 30 seconds at full volume, even when it is set to silent, and can show where it is. It also works over the internet if you set up Connect over the internet.

Steps

  1. Allow it in advance

    On the phone open the PC › Permissions and turn on Find this phone. Do this now, before you need it.

  2. Ring the phone from the PC

    On the PC open the phone and click Find › Play sound. You can add a short message.

  3. See where it is

    Click Show location. The phone sends its position straight to your PC; it isn’t stored anywhere.

  4. Find the PC from the phone

    Tap Find on the phone. The PC shows a notice that you can close with OK, found it. The PC must allow Find device.

Limits

  • Location works while the phone app is running in the background (the “Personal Bridge is running” notification). The app never asks for background location access.
  • PCs can’t report a location.
  • Command line: pdb find <device>.
