Use your Android phone as a webcam for your PC
Turn your Android phone into a webcam for Zoom, Teams or Meet through OBS Virtual Camera. Video only, local to your PC, off until you allow it.
Allow Use the camera on the phone, click Camera › Request camera on the PC, then feed the viewer’s local address into OBS Studio and start the virtual camera. Zoom, Teams and Meet then see your phone as an ordinary camera. It’s video only, so keep using your PC’s microphone.

Step by step
Allow the camera on the phone
On the phone open the PC › Permissions and turn on Use the camera.
Request the camera on the PC
On the PC open the phone and click Camera › Request camera, then tap Allow this time on the phone.
Copy the webcam address
In the viewer choose Use as webcam in other apps and copy the address.
Set up OBS
In OBS Studio add a Media Source, untick Local file, paste the address and click Start Virtual Camera.
Choose it in your call
In Zoom, Teams or Meet pick OBS Virtual Camera as the camera.
Good to know
- The address only works while the viewer is open; closing the viewer ends the stream.
- You can stop at any time with Stop on the phone.
- No picture? Make sure the PC allows the app on Private networks (Allow the app through the firewall) and the phone app isn’t being paused.
Questions
Can I use the phone’s microphone too?
No. Only video is shared; use your PC’s microphone or headset for sound.
Do I need OBS Studio?
To use the phone in other apps, yes, through OBS Virtual Camera. The built-in viewer alone just shows the picture on your PC.
Can someone else on my network watch the stream?
The local address works only on your own PC, and the phone asks for permission each time and shows when the camera is on.
Does it work on Linux?
This feature is for a Windows PC with an Android phone.
