Use your phone with your PC

Reply to text messages from your PC (Android)

Mirror Android notifications to your Windows PC and answer SMS, RCS and chat messages from the keyboard. No SMS permission, nothing stored.

Available in preview Updated Works on
  • Windows
  • Android

Turn on Mirror notifications in the phone app, allow Reply to notifications for your PC, and answer from Phone notifications on the PC with Reply. It works for messages whose notification has a reply action, which covers SMS, RCS and most chat apps, and you decide app by app how much the PC sees.

At a glance

  • Replies use the notification’s own reply action, so no SMS permission is needed.
  • Per-app privacy: Off, App name, Title or Full.
  • New apps start at app name only.
  • Notifications live in memory only and are never written to disk.

Step by step

  1. Allow notifications on the PC

On the PC open your phone › Permissions and set Notifications to Allow.

  2. Give the phone app access

On the phone tap Notifications › Allow notification access, switch on Personal Bridge in the Android screen that opens, and come back.

  3. Choose what each app shows

Switch on Mirror notifications. Under Per app, raise your messaging apps to Title or Full so you can read the messages.

  4. Allow replies

On the phone, allow Reply to notifications for the PC.

  5. Reply from the keyboard

On the PC open Phone notifications, pick the message and use Reply.

Good to know

  • You can reply only where the app’s notification offers a reply action.
  • Notification content goes only to your paired PC and is never written to disk.
  • If notifications stop arriving after a while, the phone has probably paused the app; see Stop Android from pausing the app.

Questions

Can the app read my SMS?

No. It has no SMS permission. It only sees notifications you share, and replies through the notification’s reply action.

Can I keep some apps private?

Yes. Under Per app, set an app to Off, or show only its name or title instead of the full text.

Does it work with iPhone?

No. Notification mirroring needs the Android app; there is no iPhone app.

Does it work when my phone is out of the house?

Yes, if both apps are running: paired devices connect over the internet when they aren’t on the same network (Connect over the internet).
