Use your phone as a webcam
Use your Android phone’s camera on your PC in Zoom, Teams or Meet through OBS Virtual Camera. Video only, off until you allow it.
Your phone’s camera can appear on the PC as a live picture and, through OBS Virtual Camera, as a webcam in other apps. The phone asks every time and shows that the camera is in use.
Steps
Allow the camera on the phone
On the phone open the PC › Permissions and turn on Use the camera (off by default).
Request the camera on the PC
On the PC open the phone and use Camera › Request camera. The phone asks; tap Allow this time. A red bar with Stop shows while it is on.
Use it in other apps
In the viewer choose Use as webcam in other apps and copy the address. In OBS Studio add a Media Source, untick Local file, paste the address, then click Start Virtual Camera.
Pick it in your call
In Zoom, Teams or Meet choose OBS Virtual Camera as the camera.
Good to know
- The address starts with
http://127.0.0.1and works only on this PC, only while the viewer is open. - Sound isn’t shared: use your PC’s microphone.
- Stop at any time with Stop on the phone or by closing the viewer.
