Send a file by link to anyone
Send a file to someone without the app. They open a one-time link in any browser and the file comes straight from your PC, encrypted.
Send by link is for people who don’t use Personal Device Bridge. The file isn’t uploaded anywhere: it goes from your PC straight to the recipient’s browser, end-to-end encrypted, and the link works once.
Steps
Create a link
On the PC open Send by link › New link, choose how long it is valid under Valid for (1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days) and click Choose file.
Send the link
The link is copied to the clipboard. Send it only to the recipient: the part after
#is the decryption key.Keep the PC on
The recipient opens the link in a current browser. The file travels while your PC is on and connected; the status changes from Waiting for recipient to Sending and Delivered.
Good to know
- Each link allows one download, then it ends. Use Cancel to withdraw a link early.
- No file is stored on a server; our service only helps the two browsers find each other.
