Step by step
Install the apps
Get the Windows app and the Android APK from the download buttons on this site. Neither asks you to sign in.
Pair with a QR code
On the same Wi-Fi, click Add device on the PC and tap Scan QR code on the phone, then Allow on both when the 6-digit codes match.
Send your first file
Drop a file on Send files on the PC, or tap Files on the phone. It lands in
Downloads\Personal Bridge.Turn on what you need
Notifications, remote input and other sensitive features are off until you allow them per device under Permissions (Manage devices and permissions).

Where the other app does more
- Phone Link works with iPhone as well as Android. Personal Device Bridge has no iPhone app.
- Phone Link is included with Windows, so there is nothing extra to download on the PC.
- Both show phone notifications on the PC.
When Personal Device Bridge is the better fit
- You don’t want to sign in with a Microsoft account on the phone.
- Your phone and PC are often on different networks; per Microsoft’s documentation, Android file transfer in Phone Link needs the same Wi-Fi.
- You want encryption between devices that is documented: Noise, end to end.
- You want clipboard sharing without depending on a particular phone model.
- You move a 공동인증서 or print HWP files, or want your phone as a touchpad.

Does Personal Device Bridge work with iPhone?
No. It supports Android 8.0 or later. If you need iPhone, Phone Link supports it.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
No. Personal Device Bridge has no accounts at all; devices pair with a QR code and a matching 6-digit code.
Is it free?
Yes, Personal Device Bridge is free to use.
Does it run on a Mac?
Not officially. The supported PC versions are Windows 10 and 11, plus a command-line tool for 64-bit Linux.
